surrender. and repeat.

1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. 2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

1 Peter 2:1-3

Crave spiritual milk, Peter tells us. It grows us, it fills us, and it is good.

When we loosen our grip and surrender our daily lives to God, we’re not met with emptiness, dullness or confusion. Surrendering is a sweet exchange. We get to release the great burden of our own weaknesses. We give up running the show. And we are met with His fullness, strength and abundance.

But surrendering is a big risk. We let go of what we’re comfortable with (ourselves, our habits, our agendas) and agree to follow and serve someone else.

i’m seeing more and more that believing in Christ is not a one-time deal. it’s a relationship that you have to continue to take care of. and when i surrender on a daily basis, it’s me claiming that He is really all that i need. everyday i have to ask myself - do i truly believe that He is enough?
